    Process Engineer: Business Process Management 

    The claims analytics team use our passion for data-driven decision-making to ensure we optimise customer experience during and after a claim. This means help business design processes to find a delicate balance between awesome service and the cost of service and claims controls. This is achieved by using business process analytics, data analytics, predictive modelling and business intelligence solutions. We work closely with operations and IT to achieve these goals.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Degree in Industrial Engineering (NQF-7) or equivalent
    • 3 - 5 years’ work experience
    • Strong leadership aptitude
    • Solid interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside operations, data-analytics and IT
    • Process modelling experience (BPMN) – Visio; Case-wise; Aris; Nimbus (Advantageous)
    • Coding experience – Python, R, SQL (advantageous)

    Job Specification                                                       

    Responsibilities include analytics support for assessing and procurement, including:

    • Participate in project kick-off and brainstorming sessions
    • Hold process discovery workshops with operational stakeholders
    • Analyse existing business processes to identify waste and derive improvement opportunities
    • Liaise with data scientists to quantify waste and measure process attributes
    • Hold process design workshops with key stakeholders to define target state processes
    • Align with business analysts to elicit user requirements for system design 
    • Develop intelligent tools to help ops managers make informed/data-based decisions
    • Build, maintain and improve frameworks to help with:
    • Pre-determined Time and Motion Studies
    • Activity Based Costing
    • Capacity Planning and Workload Balancing
    • Manage KPI monitoring and benefit realisation for each implemented solutions
    • Update and maintain process architecture by:  
    • Updating process repository with changes made to existing processes
    • Conducting quality assurance of existing diagrams
    • Regularly extracting reports (catalogue) to update stakeholders of process maturity

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Lean Six Sigma certification would be advantageous
    • Should have a passion for driving operational efficiency and improvements
    • Should have great communication and presentation skills
    • Should possess great emotional intelligence and be able to handle push-backs 
    • Should have a good repertoire of process improvement tools and methodologies
    • Should have great workshop facilitation skills
    • Previous exposure to the financial service industry would be advantageous
    • Analytical skills will be advantageous
