As our successful Process Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing site performance by leading and supporting plant improvement initiatives. These initiatives may be capital or non-capital projects and will be managed in alignment with dsm-firmenich project management standards.
You’ll apply Best Engineering Practices to boost process reliability and efficiency, manage changes through formal procedures, and support Six Sigma initiatives (Green/Black Belt level).
Your key responsibilities:
Performs all work in alignment with SHE, Quality behaviors and standards also adhering to the business Code of Conduct.
Manage select and specific Capital and IP projects from concept through implementation, including funding approval, design, construction, contractor management and startup (maximum 20% of role)
Leads and/or assists other leaders in implementing approved plant improvement projects in accordance with Improve Plant work processes and provide monitoring on the effects of the changes (50%)
Collect, monitor and control process data to ensure operational parameters are within spec and adjustments performed as needed (10%)
Identifying and resolving issues that arise during production, including equipment malfunctions and process deviations (20%)
Create and Update P&ID’s (routine as part of projects and process improvements)
Participating in PSAs, HAZOPs and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) (linked to plant improvements)
Leads projects such that objectives and milestones are met, within agreed budget and timing, utilizing the project management and Lean Six Sigma methodology.

You bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline. Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical engineering degrees preferred
Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or industrial setting
Previous experience in a GMP/ food environment is required.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Previous experience with flavors and fragrances industry considered advantageous
Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) is a plus.
