    Procurement Buyer

    Purpose of the Position:

    • The Procurement Buyer is responsible for executing tactical and transactional sourcing activities across all procurement categories, including raw materials, packaging, commerce, professional services, and supply chain investments.
    • This role ensures timely and compliant procurement execution, supports strategic sourcing initiatives, and maintains supplier and contract data integrity within the Source-to-Pay (StP) framework.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    Tactical Sourcing Execution

    • Conduct spot buys, in-flight sourcing, and renegotiations for short-term procurement needs.
    • Manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs) via Coupa for purchases between R30k and R1M.
    • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place for all sourcing events

    Requisition-to-Order Process

    • Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders in Coupa.
    • Track approval flows and ensure timely PO issuance and goods receipt.
    • Support invoice matching and resolution of discrepancies.

    Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
    • Collaborate with category managers and business units to align sourcing with operational needs.
    • Maintain supplier master data and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

    Reporting & Governance

    • Support procurement governance by ensuring sourcing documentation is complete and audit-ready.
    • Contribute to spend visibility and reporting through accurate data entry and tracking.
    • Assist in supplier performance monitoring and feedback collection.

    The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance or related.
    • 2+ years of experience.
    • Proven experience in Coupa (or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Transactional accuracy and compliance awareness.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
