Procurement Category Manager at Servest SA

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric
• 5 to 8 years' experience in the technical procurement/project management environment
• Technical experience in a service or manufacturing environment is advantageous
• Degree in a Purchasing, Commerce and/or Engineering field
• High MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficiency

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ability to review and compare technical specifications for products, chemicals, consumables etc
• Ability to develop and interpret technical specifications
• Proven negotiation skills and experience with supplier management, both locally and internationally
• Systems orientated with a solid understanding of ERP systems
• A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of SA's regulatory framework such as NRCS & SABS requirements
• Processing and issuing of purchase orders, request for quotations and proposals
• Liaise effectively with suppliers and manufacturers, as well as internal departments
• Co-ordinate short listing of prospective tenderers, prepare and distribute invitations
• Analysis of price trends globally
• Establishment of price benchmarks
• Develop technical reports with the various Servest divisions.
• Arrange venues for site meetings and participate/chair site meetings
• Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Assist in the process to optimize the scoring on the Preferential Procurement part of the BBBEE Act.
• Ability to identify and capitalize on current trends and drive new product/offering development
