Product Designer: Design System Lead at Salt South Africa

Responsibilities Include

• Create a unified, cohesive set of UX and visual guidelines for all mobile & web products
• Plan strategically as a partner with engineering, product and brand to define the future of design systems
• Create high-quality mocks and interactive prototypes to communicate your work. Use user research and data to inform your reasonings
• Take ownership of, and collaboratively develop our user personas, user journey maps, and design principles.
• Advocate for design by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally. Be able to precisely articulate design rationale and goals
• Inspire the entire team and our internal partners by bringing new ideas to the table and defining next-generation interfaces, be the voice of our customers and advocate for their needs and abilities.
• Conduct your own research via a range of techniques such as usability & user testing, guerilla testing, customer interviews or using qualitative or quantitative product data
• Recruit, and coach junior designers
• Work closely with the Product Manager in a cross-functional agile environment
• Champion UX within the Agile planning process, and ensure that the best solutions are delivered, even in the face of technical constraints

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience in a Design System/ Product Design
• Outstanding portfolio of design projects
• Solid knowledge of Figma and prototyping tools
• Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
• Good time-management skills
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions
• Ability to initiate and drive design projects to completion with minimal guidance
