Product Head: Emerging Markets at Capitec Bank

Purpose Statement

• We're seeking an exceptional Product Head to lead our expansion into high-growth emerging markets. This is a pivotal role where you'll shape the strategic direction for our Emerging Markets offerings, translating organizational vision into world-class financial products that drive client acquisition and maximize client value. 
• You'll own the full product lifecycle while building and leading a dedicated team across product, technology, and operations, establishing the foundation for sustained growth in markets with transformational potential. 
• The Product Head will be accountable for end-to-end ownership of the newly launched Entrepreneur account and expand this offering across the broader emerging market by defining and driving all capabilities required to address client financial and business needs.
• The role ensures that Emerging Market products are competitive, scalable, digitally led, and underpinned by robust, secure, and modern technology foundations. 

Education (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
• Bachelor's Degree

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

• Honours Degree

Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge:

• Strategic and commercial thinking at an organisation wide level and perspective.  
• Technologically literate and able to adapt to new technologies.

• Business acumen and systems thinking; able to take a ‘big picture’ view, assess, make a logical, sound decision and influence others to achieve objectives.

Experience:

• 8+ yrs experience in business management at a senior level in an innovative high performing environment, ideally Financial Services, Retail or FinTech. 
• 5+ years’ experience managing products, leading and managing multiple small or medium sized teams (remote and hybrid)
• Experience in applying technical expertise to lead, manage and guide technical teams within the product development lifecycle
• Business and product vision; has had ownership responsibility for a product previously. 
• Communicating with technical and non-technical senior stakeholders across multiple business units.
• Using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success.
• Providing thought leadership and vision, identifying and promoting strategic opportunities for the organisation.  
• Aligning multiple teams and products and their strategies with a central organisational strategy and related objectives. 
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities, influence diverse stakeholders, and operate effectively across strategic, tactical, and technical levels.
