    Product Manager

    Job Description

    The Product Development Manager is responsible for the analysis, definition, justification, launching and review of new products or incentives, as well as the managing and evolving of existing products across Business and Consumer Bureau Services. These activities are key for maximising business volume, providing profitable growth, and differentiating the Experian product portfolio in the market to grow market share.

    Qualifications

    • A degree or professional qualification in business, marketing or closely related field is required.
    • 5 years of Product Management experience is required.
    • Previous experience and understanding working within a project management environment would be preferred.
    • Experience within financial services or a software environment would be preferred.
    • Previous experience within data analysis is essential.
    • Proven commercial acumen, within a sales targeted environment would be preferred.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Have product obsession and single focus to make the product the best in the world, creating the product strategy and business plan whilst at the same time aligning to company strategy.
    • Be the link between Experian Product team and potential external industry partners as well as existing 3rd party vendors, constantly looking out for developments that have opportunity for profitable products and solutions that align to company strategy.
    • Be the ‘voice of the customer’ and have an-depth understanding of clients’ information needs, business objectives and market sectors and specifications.
    • Source new data and other solutions from 3rd party providers of data to develop new products and solutions as well as to enhance existing products.
    • Collaborate with other product managers in the team by sharing some of the industry insights, developments and other new data sources that might be of use to their portfolios.
    • Negotiate pricing with 3rd party vendors in order to maximise profits margins on existing solutions.
    • Conduct regular research of the market and competitor product development and provide comparisons to own product on basis of product features, pricing, user experience, market acceptance, etc.
    • Implement the roadmap and business plan for the product with accountability for execution at all levels and scales, e.g. strategy through to sprint.
    • Strategic and macro use of management information and performance data to identify areas of proposition weakness.
    • Ability to make recommendations and correct underperforming products and data sources.
    • Have awareness and responsibility towards reaching sales targets.
    • Review launched products or incentives against predicted performance indicators – recommend change, keep or withdraw.
    • Support the various needs of Experian customers by ensuring efficient and accurate resolution of product and data related queries.
    • In-depth understanding of clients’ information needs, business objectives and market sectors and specifications as well as data collection requirements including objectives, security, sample, etc in both the Consumer and Business Bureau.
    • In-depth understanding of the Bureau environment that relates to Data, Technology, Cloud (AWS and MS Azure) and Legal and Compliance.
    • Lead in the design, development and implementation of activities that collect, manage and distribute data.
    • Work within a highly regulated environment.
    • MIS, Analytical and data health monitoring capabilities;
    • Work closely in a team of 4 people, responsible for different products in both the consumer and business information environments, supporting them with market research, market trends, documentation of business requirements and maintaining of product portal and all other documents and materials relating to products.
    • Support the Sales team with proposing solutions to targeted customers.
