Product Specialist - Vegetable Seed at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd

• A global horticultural seed company is seeking the above to be responsible for managing and executing seasonal trials, overseeing crop strategies, providing technical support, and collaborating with sales and product development teams to drive successful trial outcomes.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification within the relevant field
• Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of agronomy and irrigation is essential
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late afternoons, and evenings
• Open to extensive travel and overnight stays as operationally required (B&B/guesthouse)
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Must be proficient in computer applications and technology
• Strong personal time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills across departments

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing seasonal trials.
• Planning trial layouts.
• Evaluating trials.
• Presenting data to the Product Development team.
• Maintaining regular contact with Sales Representatives and clients to ensure trials are managed successfully and evaluated on time.
• Packing and shipping trial seeds.
• Managing crops.
• Developing crop and variety sales strategies.
• Implementing crop strategies.
• Maintaining crops and variety knowledge.
• Training Sales Representatives on Product Development.
• Providing technical support.
