Production Assistant: Virology - Roodeplaat at Deltamune

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Receiving and Packing of SPF eggs and duck egg
• Candling and marking of eggs according to the required route and standard
• Inoculation of embryonated eggs according to the required route with the relevant virus strains
• Harvesting of inoculated eggs as to maintain the minimum required yield followed by purifying and inactivating antigen
• Maintaining, monitoring and cleaning of other relevant production equipment, including washing of trays, bins, incubators etc
• Maintain plant cleaning and hygiene management for your area as to meet the required standard
• Correct handling of thermometers, weights, balances, pipettes within the scope of operations
• Preparation of Media and other Laboratory Reagents as required by the team leader
• Handle hazardous material in a manner consistent with OHSA requirements and related training

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 with preferably Biology, Science and Mathematics as subjects

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge and/or experience in basic computer skills advantageous
