KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Receiving and Packing of SPF eggs and duck egg
• Candling and marking of eggs according to the required route and standard
• Inoculation of embryonated eggs according to the required route with the relevant virus strains
• Harvesting of inoculated eggs as to maintain the minimum required yield followed by purifying and inactivating antigen
• Maintaining, monitoring and cleaning of other relevant production equipment, including washing of trays, bins, incubators etc
• Maintain plant cleaning and hygiene management for your area as to meet the required standard
• Correct handling of thermometers, weights, balances, pipettes within the scope of operations
• Preparation of Media and other Laboratory Reagents as required by the team leader
• Handle hazardous material in a manner consistent with OHSA requirements and related training

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 with preferably Biology, Science and Mathematics as subjects

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge and/or experience in basic computer skills advantageous

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Accurate journal entry preparation and reviewing.
• Reconciling schedules, ledgers, and sub-ledgers monthly.
• Maintain internal controls relating to the accounting records by following policies and procedures and complying with financial and legal requirements.
• Overseeing the acquisition of fixed assets within the internal ERP system, and actively proposing enhancements to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of our system.
• Preparation of fixed asset entries and reconciling to the general ledger.
• Contributing to month-end/year-end closings and generating trial balances.
• Meeting monthly reporting deadlines and addressing monthly reporting queries.
• Assisting in audit preparation and assembling audit packages.
• Coordinating with auditors, SARS, and banking institutions.
• Management of Petty Cash and replenishment.
• Approval of accounts payable reconciliations.
• Facilitating supplier payments and securing a consistent cash flow throughout the month.
• Coordinating salary payments through both external service providers and internal processes.
• Approving or preparing, reconciling, and payment of local and international payments.
• Managing insurance claims.
• Collaborating with other divisions for streamlined processes.
• Contributing to budget preparation for the business.
• Playing a role in annual BBBEE audit preparation and execution.
• Undertaking additional ad-hoc functions as required.
• May be required to supervise a junior employee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Matric
• B. Com in Accounting or equivalent
• Completed Articles will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Office 365

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years in accounting
• Sage 300 (Accpac)
