Production Manager: Concentrated Products at Woodlands Dairy

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee the overall production process of our concentrated products. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of high-quality products, optimizing production methods, streamlining workflows, and managing a team of production staff. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and a proven track record of successfully managing production operations.

Key Performance Areas:

• Plan and manage the production activities for the manufacturing of concentrated products, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, supply chain, and quality control, to ensure the availability of required raw materials and equipment for production.
• Implement production strategies to optimize resources, reduce costs, and maximize output efficiency without compromising quality.
• Develop and oversee production schedules, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to meet production targets and customer demand.
• Assess and manage production risks, identifying potential bottlenecks or issues that may impact production timelines or quality.
• Monitor and analyse production data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to improve overall production performance.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, taking appropriate measures to mitigate any potential risks to employees or the production process.
• Lead and manage a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to drive productivity and enhance employee engagement.
• Collaborate with the engineering department to evaluate and implement new technologies or equipment that can enhance production capabilities and improve operational efficiency.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation, identifying areas for process optimization, and implementing best practices in the production process.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience of 3 years working in a production management role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the concentrated products sector.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes and techniques, including batch processing, mixing, blending, and packaging.
• Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve production objectives.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and implement effective solutions.
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations for manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices is highly desirable.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in using productivity software and production management systems.
