Production Manager - Midrand at Alstom

YOUR ROLE:

• Oversee the maintenance of rolling stock processes, drawing up a planning schedule to meet delivery requirements.
• Monitor the maintenance processes and adjust as needed to meet delivery targets.
• Introduce systems and structures to ensure smooth system performance of rolling stock within Gautrain contract, directing and aligning support functions to drive the maintenance schedule.
• Liaise among different departments, e.g. Sub-contractors, Vendors & Customer to coordinate efforts to meet maintenance schedule, ensuring appropriate feedback to supply as to mitigate against stoppages.
• Ensure effective management of disasters and incidents with rolling stock 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor-, B-Tech Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Industrial Engineering or Operations Management.
• 5 Years Production Planning / Management experience.
• 3 to 5 Years working experience in manufacturing, production support or technical.
• 10-years’ experience in the rolling stock environment
• Extensive expertise in manufacturing disciplines, together with HSE and quality standards is required.
• Leadership skills required include clear concise communicator at all levels and across all functions of the organization. Be a champion of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.
• Excellent People Management skills with exposure in managing large teams
• Decision and problem-solving skills on a day to day level which requires a positive and “can do” attitude.
• The ability to generate simple workable solutions to problems raised.
• Ability of self-motivation as well as inspiring a team and hold good communications skills.
• Manager must also be able to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines.
