What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

• As an Engineer – Civil Pr.Eng, you’ll play a key role in designing and overseeing the construction of Solar PV plants and substations.
• You’ll be responsible for translating client specifications into detailed designs, managing stormwater, drainage, and foundation designs, and ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Additionally, you’ll be tasked with generating detailed bills of quantities (BoQs), developing cost estimates, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

What you’ll need

• To succeed in this role, you must hold a degree in Civil Engineering and be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). You should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, with specific expertise in designing Solar PV plants and substations.
• Practical site experience, proficiency in software design packages like Prokon and Civil 3D, and a solid understanding of FIDIC and other engineering contracts are essential. Strong technical writing skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to professional development will set you apart as a candidate.
