Professional Engineer (Production Level): Ref no. TPW 248/2022 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for three (3) suitably qualified and competent Engineers to perform all aspects of varied innovative and complex engineering activities that result in progress in technology and engineering applications. These posts are based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

• Engineering Degree (B Eng/ BSC (Eng)) or relevant qualification
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification engineering experience required
•  Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer Or have submitted with ECSA for Professional registration as a Professional Engineer. (Proof of payment to be submitted with application) and compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer will then be applicable within 6 months from appointment
• A valid code B or higher driving licence.

Remuneration

Grade A: R 750 696 - R 801 105 per annum; Grade B: R 846 429 - R 911 862 per annum; Grade C: R 967 809 - R 1 140 018 per annum (OSD as prescribed). 

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD) are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
