Professional Nurse(PN-A2) at Free State Department of Health

Requirements:

• Matric, Basic R425 (i.e Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse . Current registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse .
• Grade 1: Experience: None after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse Current registration with council

Duties:

• Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Implement a comprehensive nursing care plan/program for the promotion of health, self-care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
• Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality nursing (quality of practice). Maintain a plan to improve the quality of nursing and health care. Actively engage in the educational and training of students in the health care system.
• Practice nursing and health care in accordance with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing health care. Protect and advocate rights of patients regarding health care. Implement patient care standards, policies and procedures. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders.
• Disseminate information on epidemics, nutritional disease, maternal and infant morbidity and mortality and other common diseases. Communicate with the multi-disciplinary health teams, organisations and special interest groups when dealing with community health issues and needs.
