RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established firm in Gauteng, specialising in construction and property solutions is currently seeking a highly experienced and professionally registered Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all aspects of quantity surveying services across multiple projects
Manage and mentor a team of junior and intermediate QS professionals
Ensure quality control, accuracy, and consistency of cost management deliverables
Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
Provide contractual and procurement advice to clients
Administer contracts and handle variations, valuations, and final accounts
Lead client meetings, maintain regular communication, and build lasting relationships
Oversee project financials and ensure delivery within budget and timeline expectations
Contribute to business development and support the growth of the QS practice
Requirements:
BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying
Must be registered as a Professional Quantity Surveyor with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP)
Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a consulting QS environment
Demonstrated experience managing or supervising project teams
Strong track record of successfully managing client relationships and project delivery
Excellent knowledge of South African construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, NEC, FIDIC)
Proficiency in WinQS, MS Office
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
