Programme Manager at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Prepares the strategic policy documents of the Energy Office.
• Prepares appropriately sound international contracts.
• Develops appropriate means for administrative, fiscal and financial control of alternative energy and carbon credit schemes.
• Develops efficient, more effective legislation, whether at a local, provincial, national or
• international level.
• Protects the interests of the Municipality where test cases occur which may vitally influence the policies and laws applicable to the City to alternative energies and carbon credits.
• Undertakes or participates in other special projects, involving the interface between finance, economics and law or municipal, provincial and national government and commercial institutions and instruments as may be assigned by the Executive Director

 
Essential Requirements:

• Degree (NQF level 7) in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Registered as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 6 years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 7 years relevant experience.
