    Programme Manager

    Purpose of the Position:

    Key Performance Objectives

    Programme Management Planning

    • Participate in pre-programme engagement meetings to understand programme requirements
    • Define programme objectives, benefits and develop clear metrics to measure delivery of agreed benefits post go-live.
    • Define programme outcomes and outputs (KRAs & KPIs).
    • Manage time, budget, quality, and scope on all programmes/projects in the portfolio.
    • Deliver the go to market (GTM) plans for programmes.
    • Chair Executive/ Steering Committee meetings for Project/ Programme

    Programme Implementation

    • Manage the delivery of complex programmes that span one or multiple lines of business
    • Outline programme deliverables and timelines
    • Unpack programmes into project workstreams and work packages
    • Develop project implementation tracking metrics to ensure projects are on track, identify deviations, challenges and risks and provide frequent communication and feedback to the relevant stakeholders
    • Review and ensure quality of work in the project meets the set expectations and standards
    • Achieve programme objectives by active involvement and continuously reviewing and improving operational methodologies
    • Manage and chair programme steercos to executives
    • Manage and chair internal programme sessions with project managers and delivery managers across the organisation
    • Implement risk management strategies and review project risks and activities that could pose a risk to the programme
    • Drive organisational change processes and change management on the programme
    • Implement a programme communication strategy
    • Effective problem management and planning on the programme
    • Influence team members, business executives and programme stakeholders to balance long and short-term objectives considering business value of the programme
    • Implement programme objectives and goals in alignment with the various business unit annual objectives and goals
    • Ensure appropriate monitoring and support is in place post go-live on all projects
    • Manage operational handover to lines of business and run post launch war-rooms
    • Proactively manage dependencies and deviations on set timelines
    • Proactively manage stakeholders through effective communication and reporting

    Demand management

    • Participate in the definition and implementation of PMO demand management processes.
    • Arrange the ceremonies where updates, changes and new items are classified and categorised.
    • Prepare and provide the means for management to make decisions on the priority and delivery of the work requests.

    Operational Excellence

    Ways of Work (processes)

    • Participate in the continuous improvement of the PMO has ways of work that align to the overall Showmax operational cadence.
    • Collaborate with the Head of PMO in developing methods of work and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the PMO (including reporting templates, risk frameworks, communication frameworks, governance frameworks, etc.)

    Project Management best practice & tools

    • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practice.
    • Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies, and tools.
    • Provide project documentation for all projects/ programmes.

    People Management

    • Develop high performing teams by embedding formal performance management process and informal coaching.
    • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members
    • Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes
    • Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed
    • Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from Human Capital
    • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met
    • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Capital when required
    • Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
    • Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with
    • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised

    Qualifications

    • A Post Graduate ’s Degree or Equivalent NQF Level 8 Qualification in Business /Project Management/ Engineering
    • Project Management certification (PMP®/Prince2®/ Agile or similar)
    • Programme Management certification will be an advantage

    Experience

    • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience
    • A minimum of 5 years in OTT (online streaming)
    • Programme/Project Management
    • Proven track record in delivering complex cross-functional projects
    • Proven track record in delivering OTT projects
    • Process institutionalization
    • Resource and capacity management
    • People Management

    Technical Competencies

    • Project Management methodology (PMBOK / Prince2 / Agile)
    • OTT products and services
    • Budget Development & Management
    • Planning and scheduling (MS Projects)
    • Risk and Issue assessment and management
    • Solid communication skills
