Programme Manager (Western Cape) at PEP

THE OPPORTUNITY

• The PEP Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager to oversee the management and growth of our education programmes. This is a senior role requiring both strategic and hands-on leadership.  This is an opportunity to make your mark in a foundation with big plans to support education in South Africa.  We await your ideas, entrepreneurial spirit and rigorous programme management capabilities.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide strategic direction and oversee programme implementation.
• Manage and improve programme systems, ensuring smooth daily, monthly, and termly cycles.
• Analyse programme data, maintain reporting platforms, and respond to field insights.
• Build strong relationships within programme communities and resolve queries quickly.  This person is the beating heart of each of the programmes and leads building culture. 
• Convene and lead weekly planning meetings with clear tracking and reporting.
• Write compelling reports for donors, partners, and school-based teams.

Requirements
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS 

• Degree in a related field, such as in the education sector. A Project Management qualification is an advantage.
• Has at least five years of experience in leading complex programmes in the public schooling sector, and is familiar with the debates, complexities and social dynamics in the sector.  
• Proven experience in building relationships in the no-fee public school sector.
• Proven experience in managing data systems.  (Requires advanced skills in data analysis tools such as Excel/Google Sheets).
• Energetic leader who inspires teamwork and drives delivery.
• Strong analytical and storytelling/report-writing ability.
• Cause driven and determined to serve the best interests of both beneficiaries and donors.
