Formal accounting and finance qualifications B Com (Hons) or equivalent qualification in Finance.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting and finance environment, preferably project accounting with a minimum of 2 year’s investment decision making skill sets.
Computer Proficiency: Proficient in the use of various software, including SAP Financial Accounting,
Cost Center Expenditure, Profit Center Expenditure, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Budgeting and Forecasting such as Business Consolidation and Planning (BPC).
Primary Duties
Monitor, analyze and report on Secondary Activities in line with Rand Water’s policies and procedures.
Facilitate the organization’s annual Secondary Activities budget and quarterly forecasting process.
Partnering with Portfolios to resolve finance related queries on Secondary Activities projects.
Perform financial viability analysis on new business ventures identified by business.
Perform financial due diligence on potential contract awards in Secondary Activities and capital investment analysis for potential investments in infrastructure.
Ensure that Secondary Activities expenditure comply with statutory and regulatory frameworks and Rand Water policies and procedures.
Represent Finance in Secondary Activities project related committees and meetings.
Identify, analyze, and report on areas of business risk relating to Secondary Activities projects.
Prepare Secondary Activities input to Management Accounts and Performance Reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for internal reporting to Management, Audit Committees, and the Board of Rand Water
Ad-hoc projects allocated on audit queries, project cost analysis, financial analysis and Reporting, financial Systems improvements, and team initiatives.
Participate in team goals and develop initiatives that will create value for the team.
