Project Engineer at AES Africa

Associated Energy Services (AES) has an opening within its’ head office structure. AES requires a Projects Engineer in Cape Town, Western Cape. The Projects Engineer reports into the Projects Director. This is an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to join a dynamic team and take the initiative in executing the various projects secured by AES.

The Projects Engineer will be directly responsible for executing projects nationally that includes the following key performance areas:

• Evaluation, Initiation, planning, design, execution (supervision / health and safety), monitoring and closure of a project;
• Track and report on project costs to budget;
• Monitor and manage the project timing plan and take appropriate action as necessary;
• Maintain a project file that documents all aspects of the project;
• Manage the project team to ensure the project is delivered to the defined specification and client expectations;
• Communicate regularly to the various project stakeholders.

The following are the minimum requirements:

• A B-tech Mechanical Engineering degree;
• 1-3 years working experience is required;
• Have a passion for project management;
• Have an interest in energy and steam generation plant, fuel (coal, HFO, biomass) management, water treatment;
• Good interpersonal skills to support working with contractor personnel at all levels and clients;
• Be willing to work extended hours as the need arises;
• Be willing to travel as requierd depending on project location;
• Be motivated by challenging circumstances;
• Be a self-starter and take initiative;
• Good working knowledge of MSWord, MSExcel and MSPowerpoint
• Exhibit a good command of the English language (Speak, read, write);
• Have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
