Drive complex petrochemical projects from concept to completion within a leading engineering environment. We seek a highly skilled and registered Project Engineer to manage multi-disciplinary teams, technical designs, contractor coordination, and project execution across South Africa and international sites.
This role is central to delivering compliant, on-time, and on-budget engineering solutions.
You will work closely with the Engineering Project Manager to manage capital projects, including the design and in-house fabrication of piping systems, pressure equipment, and large-scale structures.
The ideal candidate is familiar with industry standards (OHS Act, ASME B31/VIII, SANS) and has advanced proficiency in MS Project and AutoCAD. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead technically complex projects with strategic importance.
Minimum Requirements:
BSc Mechanical Engineering is essential – not a BTech
Project Management Diploma preferred
Preferably to have certifications in the OHS Act, ASME B31 (Piping). SANS 347, SANS 10089-1 & ASME VIII standards.
Pr.Eng is preferred but not essential – preferably working towards obtaining it.
Experience & Technical Skills:
10 years of engineering experience in the petroleum industry, or liquid bulk terminal expertise, of which 5 years were in a project management role, is essential.
5+ years in project engineering
Expert knowledge of piping, structural and pressure equipment design
Proficient in P&IDs, HAZOP, MOC, NEC & JBCC contract administration
MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, Word (intermediate level)
