Project Engineer at Colgate-Palmolive

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team! This role drives ideation, evaluation, prioritization & implementation of projects related to major equipment modification or installation of new equipment and facilities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Engineering and Capital Project Management: Managing factory and office construction, equipment installation, and relocation projects
• Designs optimal plant layouts and material flows
• Delivers projects on time and within budget, meeting agreed-upon criteria
• Uses a systematic approach to track, communicate, and manage the cost and schedule of projects
• Participates to the preparation and the discussion of the CEB program review with the Divisional and Global Engineering Team
• Applies Capital Equipment Budget (CEB) and Manufacturing Work Order (MWO) processes to optimize capital expenditures
• Drives standardization in site, layout and equipment design
• Uses proven chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering principles when designing and implementing processes/projects
• Uses simulation and Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages to develop line and equipment design
• Applies FP&R (Factory Performance and Reliability) standard in the design and execution of the new projects.
• Ensures documentation is provided and archived as required
• Adheres to utility requirements, constraints, and compliance with local construction regulation
• Engages stakeholders in design decisions to ensure projects satisfy quality, cost, service and safety criteria
• Ensures that sites, buildings, and equipment align with EOHS and Quality standards Leverages best practices and engineering innovation in current capital projects
• Understands the basic concepts of process control and can direct experts in systems implementation
• Manages third party contractors and design firms effectively

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree Mechanical/Electrical Engineering OR S4 Engineering Qualification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in High Volume work or Fast Moving Consumer Goods
• Certification Project Management - CAPM (Certified Associate In Project Management)
• Prior experience in deploying CEB projects to improve plant operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC)
• Professional Engineer (PE)License will be an added advantage
