Review hydraulic specification, review hydraulic design calculations, perform hydraulic audits on hoisting systems, perform site surveys, collecting data and supporting engineering design
Develop and use standard computations, track and update and design tasks, guide others to develop 3D models in SolidWorks and assist with detailed drawings
Prepare technical manuals and documents, permit applications and tests, submit project risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions
Documenting and handing technical risks according to mitigation guidelines
Clarifying technical queries for customers. Interacting with other technical staff, supporting functions, customers and contractors
Collaborating with sales, supply chain, R&D, finance, administration, project management and field service engineering functions across the business cycle from scoping and quoting, to project kickoff and execution through to final commissioning, after-sales support and systems evolution
Using international, South African, end customer and ABB standards, processes and tools to deliver standardized, high-quality designs
Support business by reporting process and tool inefficiencies, along with contributing to the development of new/revised processes within the team
Your background
BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
ECSA Professional registration a benefit
Medium pressure hydraulics experience a requirement
Hoist brake hydraulics design experience a benefit
Preference will be given to EE candidates
Team player, Show a willingness to learn and teach, strong time and budget management and have a Valid passport
