    Quality & Operational Excellence Manager - Modderfontein

    Your responsibilities

    • Leading a team of quality specialists and testing engineers, independently ensuring compliance with our processes, standards and best practices
    • Ensuring the qualification, evaluation, monitoring and improvement of our suppliers in collaboration with the operations, SCM, engineering and safety team, leading initiatives to simplify and improving our processes
    • Ensuring compliance to ISO quality standards, organizing and guiding the formulation, upgrading and implementation of departments quality management system procedures, processes and work instructions

    • Experience in Electrical and Mechanical engineering is preferred and will be beneficial, theoretical and practical experience will be an added advantage
    • Have developed expertise relevant to the position, 10 years.
    • Previous managerial experience, good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, must be available to travel on occasion
    • The position is driven and supported by many administration activities, therefore your knowledge and experience in All Microsoft Office packages is critical

    Senior Project Engineer - LV & MV Drives

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible for the commissioning of ABB systems and products, installation supervision, conducting start-up according to procedure, performing required testing, performing acceptance testing with presence of customer and approval societies
    • Maintenance of the ABB systems/products, performing maintenance on product/system according to ABB procedure and practice, conducting training as per agreement, giving recommendations
    • Service of ABB system/products, warranty call-outs, on-call services, repair, fault tracing and technical support
    • Working away from home for prolong periods of time, weekends and national holidays must be expected, call outs, travel on short notice for emergency basis must be expected
    • Service reports to be submitted after each task as per requirements, completing time sheets and updating at all times

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years relevant commissioning experience, MV, LV Drives and Switchgear.
    • Knowledge of ABB Frequency Converters, Power systems is an advantage.

    Project Engineer - Hydraulics

    Your responsibilities

    • Review hydraulic specification, review hydraulic design calculations, perform hydraulic audits on hoisting systems, perform site surveys, collecting data and supporting engineering design
    • Develop and use standard computations, track and update and design tasks, guide others to develop 3D models in SolidWorks and assist with detailed drawings
    • Prepare technical manuals and documents, permit applications and tests, submit project risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions
    • Documenting and handing technical risks according to mitigation guidelines
    • Clarifying technical queries for customers. Interacting with other technical staff, supporting functions, customers and contractors
    • Collaborating with sales, supply chain, R&D, finance, administration, project management and field service engineering functions across the business cycle from scoping and quoting, to project kickoff and execution through to final commissioning, after-sales support and systems evolution
    • Using international, South African, end customer and ABB standards, processes and tools to deliver standardized, high-quality designs

    Your background

    • BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • ECSA Professional registration a benefit
    • Medium pressure hydraulics experience a requirement
    • Hoist brake hydraulics design experience a benefit

    Senior Project Engineer - HPR

    Your responsibilities

    • Coordinating engineering discipline across several projects, providing technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing complete project documents in one’s area of responsibility
    • Serving as a specialist in application of advanced concepts and methods, assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.)
    • Supporting contract managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.), providing cost effective quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivering within budget and contract, ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks
    • Creating work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility, reviewing and approving scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost, improving effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions
    • Completing risk and opportunity assessments and ensuring implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility, reporting any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution
    • Interacts with customers, officials, contractors and others. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments. Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed to with potential suppliers. Provides technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
    • Maintains network of engineering professionals and shares engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines

    Your background

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in HPR Applications
    • Knowledge of electrical theory and systems in HPR, knowledge of aluminum potline rectifiers, DC drives,
    • DC Arc furnace and transformers will be of advantage
