Project Engineer - Witbank at Glencore

JOB PURPOSE:

The incumbent in the role is responsible for managing engineering projects and activities in a safe and efficient manner and to make an effective contribution towards the business’s plan and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute capital projects in a safe and sustainable manner in adherence to agreed timelines, budgets, specifications, and qualities.
• Executing Civil Engineering designs with an emphasis on haul roads and water management/control structures
• Verifying and optimising designs in conjunction with consultants and end users.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders.
• Building stakeholder relationships and managing expectations.
• Assessing environmental impacts of projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A 4 Year Tertiary Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc. Eng or B. Eng).
• ECSA registration as professional engineer (PrEng) or meeting the requirements to register with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
• Postgraduate qualification in Project Management will be advantageous.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 Years’ experience managing construction projects.
• Experience in review and certification of designs, including Professional accountability.
