Project Manager at PayFast

We're looking for an experienced project manager to work as part of our product team and keep us focused on building the right things at the right time.

This role will report directly to the Head of Product.

What you'll be doing

• Above all this role is to help our product team stay focused on building the right things at the right time.
• Manage the product team's portfolio of work by keeping track of multiple streams of work and help us deliver better quality products by watching the details.
• Help the product team drive delivery by interfacing with the wider business and with external parties to move projects along. You will do this by helping the team get the information they need and decisions made in the wider business.
• Reduce dependencies, remove blockers and coordinate with other teams and external parties to drive delivery of work.
• Manage the escalation of project deliverables that are not on track.
• Interface and work with 3rd parties and keep track of work that is not under our direct control.
• Help keep our project management tools neat and tidy. Report on our progress and generally help us execute fast but safely.
• About you

We'd love to meet you if you

• Have at least 5 years of project management experience, ideally focused on the delivery of software products in a scaling company, or experience managing multiple projects at once.
• You care about the details and love to continuously make progress. Closing things on your To-do list makes you a lot more excited than you are willing to admit.
• You can demonstrate your work/experience by talking in great depth about specific key projects you've worked on and how you were able to help your team deliver.
• You are very comfortable using project management tooling like Asana, Jira, etc. and you know how to adjust processes to maximise the tools for a Hybrid work team.
• You are a fantastic communicator, who knows that great communication starts with good listening.
• You welcome feedback from external partners and your team, and will proactively seek it out.
• You understand your work is never done, but will happily iterate and improve until the end of time.
• You are comfortable staying agile and adaptive in an ever-shifting environment.
• You are able to think through, consider, and communicate the impact of a change on a project and its knock-on effects.
• Have had experience working in cross-functional hybrid / remote teams
• You are comfortable partnering with legal and compliance.
