    Project Manager

    Project Manager - Expression of Interest

    We have a potential opportunity for a Project Manager available at our Johannesburg offices for a Project within the Insurance industries. The project in question is based on a Guidewire Implementation. 

    The project manager is responsible for these key activities:

    • Lead the analysis and estimation effort to create an accurate project estimate
    • Ensure the required staffing and resources are in place
    • Ensure the project is aligned with business objectives
    • Identify and mitigate significant project risks
    • Identify and resolve issues, escalating as needed
    • Manage project scope as initially defined and adjust as needed
    • Manage project schedule and budget
    • Communicate project status, issues, and risk to the internal team and external shareholders
    • Lead the overall Agile process (for projects using Agile Development)

    Given the scope and importance of a Guidewire implementation, it is important to assign the project manager role to a resource with the following skills:

    • Relevant qualification - BSc in Information Technology or related.
    • Relevant certifications in Agile or related
    • Minimum 6 years working experience as a Project Manager
    • Working exprience in the Insurance Industry is a requirement
    • Experience managing a full lifecycle enterprise software implementation
    • Ability to organize resources internally and work with third-party contractors where necessary
    • Experience estimating and tracking project effort
    • Experience identifying and tracking project risks and issues
    • Comfort working with technology, including navigating complex Excel spreadsheets
    • Strong communication skills
    • Credibility within the organization and ability to remove project roadblocks
    • Ability to manage and work with people with many different profiles
