Minimum requirement: AET Level 4 (Standard 7 or Grade 9 report) - Grade 12 with minimum of six months appropriate experience in groundman or handyman. Must be able to read and write, have good communication skills and can cope with the physical demands of the position.
Duties :
Clean and maintain gardens and lawns for provincial clinics e.g. pruning of trees seasonally, put fertilizers on the lawn, spraying of weed killers and trimming them.
Planting of trees and watering of flowers. Cut and maintain grass areas. Maintain parking areas and pathways and keep them in a clean and tidy state. Sweeping and raking where needed.
Fixing broken furniture, toilets, replacing keys, take care of machinery such as lawnmowers garden and cleaning equipment. Loading and offloading of goods required by the clinic and District Health Service. Cleaning of gutters down pipes and storm water drains. Assist with cleaning duties when needed. Taking inventory of available machinery and garden equipment.
Monitor contractors and report to Facility management unit and report all others facility infrastructure issues to the supervisor, work with team from the facility, removing of domestic refuse daily report all defects within the clinics verify and sign off all minor repairs. Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.
