JNPR is looking for a mid-level PR consultant to work on clients in the public sector.

The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the changing local and global media landscape within the public sector, marketing, social media and PR disciplines. The role will require the consultant to use these skills for developing and implementing communications strategies and plans for key projects within the public sector arena.

Qualifications / experience

·       A degree in communication or another relevant degree;

·       Excellent writing and media relations skills are critical;

·       A thorough understanding of social media is essential;

·       Sound crisis management capabilities are critical.

Ideal candidate has knowledge or understanding of: 

·       Overall understanding of the global media landscape;

• Using Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 Ideal candidate is capable of:

• Digesting information and distilling key messages or concepts;

• Communicating clearly and concisely;

• Writing press releases and speeches;

• Writing social media posts;

• Writing crisis communications statements;

• Proof-reading and sub-editing;

• Maintaining consistent style throughout communications;

• Developing and proposing creative concepts for events, launches, activations;

• Developing communications plans for events, launches and activations;

• Developing communications plans for crisis planning;

• Considering all aspects when proposing concepts – from the core idea to execution – including stakeholders, budgets, timelines, content and measurability;

• Working alone and in a team;
