Role Overview

• The Unity Enterprise Team within Lesaka Hospitality Software Development is seeking an autonomous, detail-oriented QA Analyst to test and elevate merchant and enterprise POS software.
• We support strong remote-work habits from day one, especially for candidates moving from an in-person, hands-on role.
• Structured onboarding and regular check-ins will help the successful candidate make that shift with confidence.
• We welcome applications through two entry paths: domain experts from hospitality or retail operations with a technical mindset, and experienced software QA professionals.

Background  

• 2+ years hands-on hospitality, restaurant supervision, retail floor or POS-heavy operations    
• 3+ years formal experience as a Software Test Analyst or QA Analayst
• QA Experience Non required; structured training provided    
• Solid grounding across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

What You'll Do

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Test Unity Enterprise software features through the lens of a real restaurant or store operator to identify workflow friction points, edge cases and technical bugs.
• Design, execute and document comprehensive test scenarios for active sprint releases.
• Perform functional, integration, system and regression testing across core POS and enterprise applications.
• Defect Management and Remote Execution
• Log, investigate, prioritise and track software defects using GitLab.
• Collaborate with developers to isolate issues and drive bug fixes to completion.
• Proactively communicate sprint progress, test coverage and blockers in a fully remote environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Must meet Path A or Path B above.
• Based in South Africa with a reliable remote setup and stable internet connection.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong technical documentation skills.
• Strong technical curiosity and basic software troubleshooting aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail, structured analytical thinking and a problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness and ability to develop strong autonomous remote-work habits, with onboarding support provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience diagnosing, isolating or troubleshooting software, web applications or digital hardware issues.
• Exposure to Chrome DevTools, console/network inspection or basic browser inspection tools.
• Hands-on experience using or troubleshooting GAAP POS, enterprise retail management software or similar platforms.
• Exposure to technical support, IT helpdesk, software troubleshooting or User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
