QA and Test Automation Engineer Team Manager at Rain South Africa

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated QA and Test Automation Engineer Team Manager to lead our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, automation, and managing teams. This person will be responsible for overseeing our QA processes, ensuring the quality of our products, and leading a team of talented QA testers.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA testers and future test automation engineers, and foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement QA strategies, methodologies, and standards to ensure comprehensive test coverage, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing. Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

Test Automation: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts and frameworks. Identify and address any reliability issues in the automated testing process. Implement best practices for test automation and continuous integration.

Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective test plans. Participate in the planning and execution of software releases.

Problem Solving and Process Improvements: Assist and resolve testing issues and defects. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in QA and test automation.

Requirements:

• Experience (+5 years) in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience (+5 years) in quality assurance, with a focus on test automation.
• Strong understanding of various testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, acceptance, and performance testing).
• Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
