    QA Chapter Lead

    Your Role at impact.com:

    1. The QA Lead is responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products for the group. This role bridges technical QA execution and leadership, guiding QA engineers while collaborating closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle

    What You'll Do:

    1. As a QA Lead for the platform group, you will lead a critical function focused on both the technical infrastructure and the human element of Quality Assurance. Your responsibilities will include:

    Quality Strategy & Process

    1. Define, track, and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage, automation stability) to drive continuous improvement.
    2. Define and maintain QA standards, methodologies, and best practices
    3. Establish test strategies for functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing
    4. Ensure quality gates are integrated into CI/CD pipelines
    5. Drive continuous improvement of QA processes and tools

    Leadership & Team Management

    1. Lead, mentor, and support QA engineers (manual and automation), fostering their professional growth and skill development.
    2. Plan QA resource allocation and testing schedules
    3. Develop onboarding materials and host internal training sessions to ensure team members have the knowledge and skills to succeed.
    4. Conduct reviews, provide feedback, and support skill development
    5. Promote a culture of quality ownership across teams within the group

    Test Planning & Execution

    1. Own test plans, test cases, and test data strategy
    2. Oversee test execution and defect management lifecycle
    3. Ensure adequate test coverage and risk-based testing
    4. Validate acceptance criteria and release readiness
    5. Ensuring coverage for smoke testing post release.

    Automation & Tooling

    1. Drive test automation strategy and framework selection
    2. Ensure effective use of automation tools and test management systems
    3. Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD integration
    4. Monitor test execution metrics and reporting
    5. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in test automation.
    6. Explore and implement AI/ML-driven testing techniques to enhance test coverage and efficiency.

    Stakeholder Collaboration

    1. Partner with Product Managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
    2. Work closely with Engineering Leads to resolve quality risks
    3. Communicate quality status, risks, and metrics to stakeholders
    4. Support release planning and go/no-go decisions
    5. Partner with QA platform & enablement to evaluate & implement next gen tools & technologies for the QA function.

    What You Bring:

    Required Qualifications

    1. 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) roles, with a strong background in test automation and platform development.
    2. Leadership experience, ideally leading QA teams for more than a year.
    3. Deep expertise in various testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, TestRail, CI/CD integration, API testing).
    4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across different teams.
    5. A proactive and innovative mindset, always seeking ways to improve quality, efficiency, and developer experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Experience leading test framework migrations. 
    2. Familiarity with OWASP guidelines and security testing tools preferred.
