Quality Assurance

• Acts as the lead internal site-specific auditor for Quality Schedules and participates in quality audits to verify proper cleaning procedures, effective use of checklists and records which are designed to improve and sustain a high level of quality assurance. This includes calibration logs, clean-out checklists, sampling procedures, product run records, bagging weight checks, sample submission etc. Assists to ensure that action items are documented in the approved system and follows up to ensure that action items are effectively closed on time. Analyzes trends from site audits and monitors findings from internal audits.
• Leads planning and execution of the document management system to ensure that documents are maintained and efficiently organized. Ensures that reviews and approvals are conducted on time and that documents are published and effectively communicated using the approved system.
• Manages the quality critical equipment register to ensure adherence to global calibration and verification specifications applicable to critical equipment identified in the process.
• Responsible for reporting quality metrics including incidents with analysis and improvements identified and implemented.
• Manages the plant self-assessment program.
• Manages the customer complaints that are raised for the plant through investigations, identification and closure of corrective actions and communication.
• Manages the Action Request system following up on investigations and closure of actions.
• Leads the plant management reviews and evaluates effectiveness of the quality management system.
• Leads the Quality testing Specialist role to ensure adherence to testing protocols, reporting of non-conforming seed and training plant personnel to perform quality checks at various parts of the process.

Quality Supply

• Performs the Quality Supply role for Kempton Park, Ogies and Bethal.
• Responsible for the characterization of raw and finished dry beans and Teff, inventory transferred from other plant locations and carryover seed for roll over.
• Manages the discard proposals for the warehouses and follows up in SAP to ensure that the discards have been completed.
• Manages the concession process for the plant for non-conforming seed.
• Responsible for the creation of inspection lots and web jobs for warehouses and the plant, including staging seeds.
• Updates SAP with disease free results for beans from the external lab.

Qualifications & Experience

• Two-year technical diploma/degree or equivalent in In seed technology or scientific discipline
• 4 - 6 Years relevant seed testing and supervisory experience
