    Quantitative Analyst (Durban)

    A finance solutions company located in Durban is actively searching for a dedicated Quantitative Analyst to join their expanding team. In this role, you will be accountable for the development and management of various models and ensuring data analytics and data science projects are in line with business requirements.

    In your role as the Quantitative Analyst, you will foster, oversee, and track relevantpredictive models, ensuring comprehensive scorecards are produced to benchmark and measure the financial risk profiles. Skilfully scrutinize and counsel the enterprise on value-adding data-driven insights, while also establishing and upholding precise data, dashboards, and management reports.

    The Quantitative Analyst key qualifications include:

    • Master's degree in Statistics and Mathematics (Preferred)
    • Honours in a related Quantitative degree
    • Strong modelling abilities non-negotiable
    • 4-8 years’ experience in Scorecard development required
    • Critical thinking and analytical skills are highly advantageous
    • Systems knowledge: SQL, R, VBA, or advanced Excel (Advantageous)

    Key duties for the Quantitative Analyst shall include but are not limited to:

    • Model development and model management
    • Developing predictive models aligned with business needs
    • Perform monthly analysis on critical credit risk areas
    • Deploying models successfully, and engaging key stakeholders on the requirements
    • Undertake ad-hoc analytics and data science projects
    • Aid in enhancing the data science capabilities of the analytics team
    • Oversee monthly monitoring and updates of existing predictive models
    • Proactively engage with the business to comprehend analytical requirements
    • Provide analysis and commentary for model management meetings
    • Provide proactive feedback to the business on data-driven analytics' value addition
    • Report to third-party funders on model management while ensuring adherence to defined policies
    • Implement automation for efficient processes
    • Identify risks by scrutinizing existing models and researching the latest methodologies
    • Offer guidance and support in establishing and managing data in the most effective manner
