    Quantity Surveyor

    • We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This position is suited to an individual who is commercially astute, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering successful construction projects through effective cost management, contractual administration and financial control.
    • Working closely with Senior and Chief Quantity Surveyors, Site Management and Project Teams, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of projects from commencement through to final account while developing towards more senior commercial leadership positions.

    Main Responsibilities:

    Commercial and Cost Management

    • Establish and maintain project budgets, cost codes and commercial control systems.
    • Establish, monitor and maintain project costs, cost-to-completion forecasts and commercial performance.
    • Analyse cost variances and identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and management information.

    Measurement, Valuations and Contract Administration

    • Measure completed works and prepare progress valuations.
    • Assess subcontractor claims and compile payment certificates.
    • Reconcile measured quantities against procurement records and site progress.
    • Monitor retentions, payment schedules and contractual payment obligations.

    Procurement and Payment Management

    • Support procurement processes through quantity verification and commercial evaluations.
    • Reconcile quantities, delivery records and procurement documentation.
    • Process subcontractor and supplier payment assessments and supporting documentation.
    • Monitor commercial commitments and payment-related obligations.

    Contract Administration & Commercial Risk

    • Administer contracts in accordance with GCC, FIDIC and NEC principles.
    • Prepare, evaluate and submit variations, claims, early warnings and delay notices.
    • Maintain accurate variation, claims and commercial registers.
    • Ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Reporting & Stakeholder Management
    • Liaise with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Attend commercial and site progress meetings.
    • Provide accurate commercial reporting to project management.
    • Maintain complete commercial records and audit-ready documentation.

    Leadership & Team Support

    • Provide guidance to Junior Quantity Surveyors and Site Clerks where applicable.
    • Promote commercial best practices across project teams.
    • Contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and professional development.

    Qualifications

    • National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 6 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
    • Successful involvement in the delivery of at least four diverse civil engineering and/or roads and earthworks construction projects.
    • Proven experience in:
    • Cost control and commercial reporting
    • Quantity measurement and valuations
    • Subcontractor administration
    • Forecasting and budgeting
    • Procurement support
    • Contract administration and claims

    Technical Knowledge

    • Strong understanding of:
    • Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
    • Cost control and forecasting
    • Construction sequencing and programme integration
    • Commercial reporting
    • RIB Candy (CCS)
    • Microsoft Excel
    • RIB BuildSmart or similar package
    • GCC, NEC and FIDIC contracts
