    Quarry Foreman

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Relevant qualification in Mining/Engineering – Preferred
    • Competent A Certificate – Essential
    • Valid RSA Driver’s License –Essential
    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a quarry/mining environment
    • Sound knowledge of quarry operations, equipment, and products
    • Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related legislation
    • Computer literate (MS Office)
    • Blasting Certificate – Advantageous
    • Functional Competencies – Compliance, coordination, execution, inspection, monitoring, planning, productivity, safety, supervision.
    • Behavioural Attributes – Leadership, accountability, decisiveness, communication, discipline, problem-solving, adaptability, integrity, teamwork, resilience.

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Supervise and coordinate daily quarry operations (drilling, blasting, hauling, crushing, screening)
    • Ensure production targets are achieved in line with operational plans
    • Monitor plant and equipment performance and coordinate maintenance
    • Maintain efficient use of labour, equipment, and resources
    • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements (MHSA)
    • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments
    • Lead toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
    • Ensure safe working practices and site housekeeping standards
    • Maintain production, safety, and inspection records
    • Compile and submit reports to management
    • Ensure all documentation is accurate and audit-ready
    • Supervise, train, and mentor quarry personnel
    • Allocate tasks and monitor performance
    • Manage shift rosters, attendance, and discipline
    • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability
