National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) or Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) specializing in instrumentation with a Trade Test from an accredited institution coupled with 2 years’ experience as an Instrument Technician. A valid driver’s license is a pre-requisite. Registration with relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: Planning, coordinating and implementing instrumentation projects Manages and maintains instrumentation, communication networks and control systems to ensure maximum systems functionality
Conducts research, makes recommendations on new technology, makes technical modifications on the instruments for operational improvements Troubleshoots telemetry and process control hardware, maintains a functional knowledge of the operation of the telemetry system software and hardware
Manages equipment within the process control domain according to the prescribed key performance indicators Tests, calibrates, repairs, installs, controls and maintains field instrumentation according to prescribed standards, good understanding of legal and safety frameworks to ensure accurate measurement and recording of information
Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications in installations or in performing repair work
Compiles and manages the capital, the operational and abnormal budgets for instrumentation Integrates process instrumentation control systems to electrical and mechanical equipment Implements protective systems to prevent damage to equipment by setting of alarm/trip equipment
Manages systems data concerning process conditions and equipment to assist with planning and management information Implements and executes the maintenance strategies for instrumentation infrastructure Supervision of Artisan Assistants, Learners and Interns/Apprentices Ensure compliance with all LNW’s policies, procedures and code of ethics.
