Regional Manager: Protein Counters - Butchery And Seafod
To manage our Joint Venture partners who run our service counters being Butchery Counters & Seafood Counters to ensure a world class butchery & seafood product offering with exceptional customer service in our Woolworths stores within the Gauteng Region. To provide leadership and direction to maximise sales and minimise losses through outstanding customer care (including technical product knowledge) within designated departments, while contributing to the overall performance of our Protein Counters, ensuring chain store image and disciplines are adhered to in the Gauteng Region
Job description
Drive sales and ensure product availability by working with internal and external parties
Identify lost opportunities.
Be able to travel as required between Gauteng & Cape Town & KZN Regions to benchmark protein service counters & improve ways of working with stores & Joint Venture partners.
Assist and resolve all issues being experienced by our Joint Venture partners in running the Butchery & Seafood service departments.
Co-ordinate all service counter in-store promotions
Ensure the right product reaches the right stores timeously
Liaise with prepacked Meat & Seafood departments on the planning and implementation of like-for-like matching promotions between counters and prepacked product ranges.
Lead the opening of all new service counters.
Develop relationships with store management to ensure integration between Woolworths & Joint Venture partners.
Develop regional store structure for the butchery and seafood service counters.
Monitor and report via Comp Shops on competitors’ activities with regard to price of products, etc.
Develop Service Level Agreements with our Joint Venture partners
Update and maintain operational manuals
Minimum requirements
Ability to drive our mission to become the iconic Butchery and Seafood Counter destination by offering our customers a fantastic fresh market experience with best butchery and seafood, quality standards, innovation, and service.
Meat & Seafood Product knowledge including meat & seafood legislation.
Customer obsessed & orientation.
Strong leadership skills to lead WW Regional Managers & Joint Venture Suppliers & WW Divisional & WW Stores teams to execute our strategy.
Relevant commercial / retail qualification
3-5 years of commercial / retail / butchery / fresh meat and seafood production experience, including cutting skills
A valid (code 08) driver’s license is essential and able to travel nationally across South Africa to manage our Protein Counters nationally.
Networking, presentation and integration skills
Basic financial management skills with understanding factors influencing a product cost & value
Knowledge of store operations, customer profiles, locations and competitors
Understanding of Foods Supply Chain principles and processes
Understanding of supplier operations
