    Regional Marketing Coordinator (Coastal )

    Job Description

    Role Purpose:

    • To further develop the relationship between VANS and their wholesale customers, ensuring visual merchandising excellence of all VANS product and technical expertise of store staff is optimal, conducting relevant promotions and identifying product gaps and opportunities in-store and communicating this with Head Office.
    • This position has the exciting challenge of travelling between stores in which VANS products are sold and creating awareness of the brand.
    • We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, confident communicator who is “hungry” to be part of growing the VANS brand in South African into a major, fully fledged toe to head sports brand.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be visible in retail and wholesale environments, analysing own and competitor product offerings, sell-through and customer trends
    • Be a brand ambassador in terms of communicating the brand personality and attitude in all environments and being passionate about product
    • Be proficient and effective on the retail sales floor in order to engage customers exposed to VANS products for the first time or develop their brand loyalty further
    • Train store staff and customers on VANS products (footwear, apparel and accessories).
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge on VANS action sports (international and local) and related marketing initiatives
    • Conduct effective and frequent “snap-shot stock takes” in the retail and wholesale environments identifying silhouette gaps, style opportunities, great sellers and customer requests. Communicate store retail feedback with Head Office teams as required
    • Have the ability to present a range and compile sales orders for wholesale customers when necessary.
    • Co-ordinate promotional events (with marketing) from concept to implementation and post event reporting
    • Design (cross functional collaboration between suppliers and marketing team)
    • Installation (managing communication and ensuring installation accuracy)
    • Daily and weekly site report submissions on VANS chosen platform

    Trade Marketing: You are responsible for how the brand is represented in store.

    You will need to manage the full project of the SIS fitout from design to installation with the help of Marketing for all graphics:

    • Managing all SIS inventory
    • Ordering SIS fittings from Global or Local
    • Global SIS reporting
    • Design (managing this team)
    • Installation (managing this team)
    • Campaign change ups

    Type of Personality and work ethic:

    • Knowledgeable on lifestyle trends and authentic passion for action sports apparel
    • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills – ability to take in information for feedback purposes, present and articulate ideas
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • Strong customer first service focus and flexible in approach
    • Self-motivated
    • Proactive
    • Good time management, multi-tasking and planning skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic, diverse team
    • A good understanding of how to analyse footwear and clothing size curves
    • Working experience in retail
    • MS Office proficiency

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / Equivalent (Essential)
    • Visual Merchandising experience
    • Own reliable vehicle and Drivers license is essential
    • Coaching or Personal training (Advantageous)
    • Excel Intermediate is essential.
    • Ability to travel (locally)
