Regional Transport Manager

Role:

We specialize in placing professionals in the Courier and Freight niche and my client is looking for an independent and strategic Regional Transport Manager with strong leadership skills and a stable work track record. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a structured and methodical manner, ensuring accuracy, build and maintain customer relationships. Manage compliance within the transport department with a sound knowledge of Road Traffic Act.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics or Supply chain or equivalent
- 10 - 15 years in transport management
- 8 years senior management experience
- ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 2200
- Rail and Road transport operations experience in South Africa and neighbouring countries
- Manage outsourced sub-contractors and drivers
- Technical sound knowledge in Transport Operations Management
- Develop and provide annual budget recommendations for fleet and sub-contractor operations
- Review monthly reports
- Ensuring fleet operations comply with all legal and operational regulations
