- Got a technical background and want to earn more than a fixed salary allows?
- A supplier of industrial conveyor systems, components, Filtration and machinery to factories and processing plants across South Africa is looking for an early-career, technically minded sales person.
- This isn't a desk job. You'll walk factory floors, inspect conveyor lines, take measurements, specify the right belts and components, and close the deal yourself. If you've worked on a plant, can read a technical drawing, and want your pay to match your effort, keep reading.
Minimum Requirements:
- A technical qualification: N4–N6, National Diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering (for example from SOLTECH, a TVET college or a University of Technology)
- 1- 3 years' experience in a plant, maintenance, workshop, technical sales or technical support role. You're comfortable around conveyors, drives, bearings or production lines.
- Some exposure to sales or client-facing work, or a strong drive to build a sales career
- Mechanically minded: you can measure, specify and explain a technical solution to a plant manager
- Competitive and target-driven. You want commission, not just a salary.
- Confident, presentable and good at building relationships
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle (essential)
Duties and Responsibilities:
On-site technical sales
- Visit factories and processing plants (food & beverage, manufacturing, mining-related and general industry)
- Measure and assess conveyor belts, systems and components on site
- Find what the client's line needs and recommend the right products and solutions
- Turn measurements and site findings into accurate quotes
Business development
- Find new clients through prospecting, cold calling and walking into plants in your area
- Run the full sales cycle, from first visit and measurement to quote, close and follow-up
- Grow existing accounts by spotting upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Relationships and reporting
- Build long-term relationships with maintenance managers, engineers, buyers and plant managers
- Keep your pipeline, CRM and sales reports up to date
- Give feedback on competitor activity and market trends
What's in it for you?
- Basic salary plus uncapped earning potential: the harder you work, the more you earn
- Fuel card for business travel
- Hands-on product and technical training
- A route from the plant floor into a professional sales career
- Room to grow into senior sales or key account roles
- Exposure to leading clients in the food & beverage and industrial sectors

- A fast-moving South African fintech in the payments space is on the verge of something big. The product is live, the users are growing, and a national rollout is underway. This is the moment when the right marketer can walk in, shape the entire creative direction, and put their name to a campaign that reaches the whole country.
- The team is small and sharp, decisions move fast, and the founder is hands-on. There is no marketing department to hide in. This role belongs to someone who thrives with a blank canvas, a bold idea, and the drive to see it through from brief to launch.
- This is not a management role in the traditional sense. There is no team to delegate to. The successful candidate will be the one doing the work: writing the briefs, driving the creative, running the channels, and showing up as the face of marketing in boardroom-level conversations with a large corporate partner. The brand ambassador will report into this role, and an influencer-led content engine is already generating results. The task now is to build the strategy around it.
What's in it for you
- Creative freedom at startup speed, backed by the reach of a national corporate partnership
- A chance to build the marketing strategy from the ground up, with real input into budget and direction
- Direct access to the founder, where your ideas are heard and actually put into action
- A national rollout to lead and put your name to
- Room to grow into a senior marketing role as the business scales
- Office-based in Johannesburg North, with hybrid flexibility available over time
Minimum Requirements
- Five or more years of marketing experience with a strong digital focus
- A portfolio of creative campaigns you personally conceptualised and delivered end to end
- Demonstrated ability to take a campaign from brief to live without hand-holding
- Hands-on experience managing social media, content production and digital performance
- Confidence working with senior corporate stakeholders and navigating formal approval processes
- Experience managing budgets and working with external suppliers or freelancers
Advantageous
- Advertising agency background
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking or consumer tech
- Experience marketing to both consumers and businesses
- PR experience
- Startup experience
- Relevant qualification in marketing, advertising or communications
- Background checks will be conducted with your consent.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualise and lead campaigns targeting consumers, for the people getting paid and merchants across all channels
- Brief, direct and sign off creative work while continuously bringing fresh ideas to the table
- Own and protect the brand voice across every platform and touchpoint
- Plan and manage social media, YouTube and digital channels with a performance mindset
- Collaborate with the in-house brand ambassador and content studio on video and explainer content
- Track campaign performance and report on results to the founder
- Serve as the primary marketing and PR contact for the corporate partner's marketing and communications teams
- Align co-marketing activity, approvals and timelines in support of the national rollout
- Plan in-market activations, point-of-sale materials and event presence
- Coordinate with operations on the logistics behind activations
- Build and manage the marketing budget in collaboration with the founder
- Manage any agencies and freelancers brought on to support activity
