Research and Development Chemist at AECI Limited

Job Description

• Assist in the research and development of surfactant-based formulations for emulsion explosives.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, chemical analysis, and stability testing.
• Support the optimization of existing formulations for improved performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate raw materials and surfactant interactions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Document test results, prepare technical data, and support scale-up to production.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in a laboratory environment (industrial experience preferred but not required).
• Physics and Mathematics as additional subjects are desirable.
• Basic understanding of surfactants, emulsions, and formulation chemistry.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as titration, GPC, FTIR, rheology, and surface tension measurements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail in experimental design and data interpretation.
• Good communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be prepared to travel and have a valid driver’s license
