    Coordinator III: Research Administration (P7) (Research Development & Support Division: Research Administration) (5-Year Fixed Term Contract)

    •  The Research Development and Support Division provides institutional support in matters relating to research, i.e. postgraduate school, technology transfer and patents, internal and external funding, research publications, management of data collation for the Research and Development (R & D) Survey. The Research Administration section within this Division, as its major function, manages textual and creative research publications for submission to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for subsidy, data collation for the R & D Survey, in addition to other prescribed and ad-hoc job function.

    Responsibilities:

    • The successful incumbent will be responsible for coordinating research administration processes and ensuring the integrity, monitoring and reporting of research performance data in support of institutional objectives. 

    Key Performance areas include:  

    • Overseeing and managing the compilation and final submission of Textual Research Output (TRO) to theDHET  
    • Overseeing and managing the compilation and final submission of Creative Research Output (CRO) to the DHET  
    • Oversight and maintenance of the Research Output module on the InfoEd system to ensure data accuracy for reporting and researcher profiling.  
    • Oversee the compilation and final submission of accurate data of the R & D Survey to the HSRC for DSTI for national and international benchmarking.  
    • Foster collaborative relationships with faculties, research centres, academic staff, and external partners to facilitate research administration processes  
    • Human Capital Management 

    Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 7) in a related field such as Public Administration, Social Sciences, or Information Systems.  
    • Two (2) to three (3) years' of working experience in a Higher Education environment  
    • Five (5) years’ working experience in Research Management  
    • At least a minimum of three (3) years of working experience in a supervisory role.
