• Contributes towards projects
• Planning and Coordinating of work activities, and supervises allocated HR resources if applicable.
• Assists with managing project budgets. Adheres to financial administrative controls
• To utilise and maintain facilities, apparatus and equipment.
• Plans own work activities according to project plans
• Utilises and maintains own facilities, material and equipment
• Conducts research support, diagnostics, and other services
• Collects, captures and processes data with basic analysis
• Provides verbal/written reports on work activities and results.
• Adheres to quality standards
• Presents results to stakeholders (advises/trains)
• Provides input in the optimisation of new technologies
• Is aware of Intellectual Property opportunities
• Assists in training junior staff
• To comply with the Occupational Health and Safety regulations/ procedures.

Requirements

• National Diploma (3 years) with 3 years applicable experience in crop/plant production.
• Registration with relevant scientific registration body.
• Practical experience in working with cover crops, Agronomy and planted pastures
• Understanding of agricultural principles related to research projects.
• Experience in working with a large team including students
• Evidence of contributions in publications and/or involvement in presentations (e.g. farmers' days).
• Magnitude of measurable outcomes (project impact)
• Willing to do extensive traveling to research sites over multiple provinces is mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license.
