    Retail Manager Food

    Description

    To support and further ensure excellent services to our clients, we are looking for a full-time Retail Manager Food in South Africa.

    Description:

    • You will manage our portfolio of key Retail clients in Africa, whilst being responsible for our Retail Business Unit in Africa, ensuring service delivery & financial KPI’s are met in accordance with client expectations and in line with the annual operating plan.

    What you will be doing:

    You will report to the Director of EMEA Retail, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Directing and managing a Retail business strategy, using collaborative relationships with our business units & functions to ensure high quality customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for building our business base by contributing to the development and implementation of new initiatives, leading to the growth of our business.
    • To be the main contact for the Africa Retail clients when communicating with NSF
    • To develop positive client relationships, to drive safety standards and minimise exposure to relevant risks
    • To manage client requests, to ensure services are delivered consistently and professionally in line with reasonable client requirements and expectations, whilst having regard for effective and efficient operational delivery
    • To provide high quality food safety and other related regulatory legal & technical advice to clients
    • Undertake statistical reviews of audit data, presenting this data into a detailed written report for presentation to the client
    • To identify, develop and as appropriate initiate and co-ordinate client safety improvement opportunities
    • Provide the relevant internal briefs & training to ensure that the audit programme is carried out effectively, accurately and on time
    • Investigate individual audit challenges
    • To undertake test audits, familiarisation audits and shadow audits, as required
    • To seek to improve the profitability of the accounts through improved efficiencies, increased business and price increases
    • Undertake any other duties in line with the basic objectives of the role

    Qualifications

    The candidate we are looking for:

    Experience:

    • Sufficient post qualification work experience in the Retail, Foodservice, or Hospitality food safety sector, ideally with direct Auditing experience
    • Related work experience in project/account management
    • Experience of working closely with senior management on consultancy projects
    • Previous experience in a commercial environment providing in-house or external client advice in enforcement matters
    • Previous operational experience within multiple retailers, distributors and manufacturers
    • Previous experience working on strategic and technical projects with a broad base of clients

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Sound investigative, gap analysis and problem solving skills
    • Current knowledge of legislative requirements in risk management techniques, systems dynamics/management and behavioural safety approaches
    • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and prioritisation skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to follow through on all assignments and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to negotiate on matters at all levels
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
    • Motivated, willingness to learn and positive attitude
    • Support a culture of continuous improvement
    • Show commitment to personal and team development
    • Demonstrate a flexible approach

    Education & Certification Qualifications:

    • Degree and/or holder of a higher level qualification in a food safety related subject
    • Excellent current knowledge of sector / legislative requirements in the food industry
