Retail Tenant Design Appraiser (5+ years' experience CPT) at dhk architects

About the Job

The opportunity:

• dhk Architects is looking for an Architect or Technologist to join our Cape Town office in the role of Tenant Design Appraiser. The role entails servicing a large retail portfolio working directly under the retail partner and is therefore retail focused.

Responsibilities:

The retail-related scope includes:

• Conducting tenant design appraisals
• Managing centre leasing plans (including renewals, consolidations and subdivisions)
• Working on small to medium projects generally in live environments within existing retail centres
• Attending weekly client meetings and inspections and regular meetings outside the office

Experience & requirements:

• Experience managing projects in the capacity of a project architect
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Indesign to undertake architectural inputs is essential, in addition to more administrative abilities using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc
• Ability to articulate ideas both verbally and visually
• Confidence and ability to communicate well with client bodies
• Sufficient people skills to manage clients and consultants alike
• A solid understanding of Local Authority Regulations and Integrated Zoning Scheme
• Advantageous, but not mandatory, would be having your own transport

You will need to be fluent in English and eligible to work in South Africa.

Salary is dependent on experience. This is a fixed-term contract position.
