    Reward & Recognition Specialist

    Overview of the role

    You provide comprehensive analysis of Tiger Brands reward policies and processes, external market trends, regulations and legislations as well as specialist support for key reward initiatives. This includes international mobility process, salary review processes, functional remuneration and incentive schemes, as well as policy and processes to support the development and implementation of an effective reward strategy.

     

    What you will do at Tiger Brands:

    • Conduct research / surveys regarding remuneration to analyse / predict market trends
    • Analyse, research and draft policies and procedures for approval
    • Analyse the utilisation for all rewards elements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
    • Participate in remuneration surveys by preparing, submitting and validating data with survey partners and apply statistical analysis
    • Update remuneration market data on payroll system and package structuring model
    • Analyse company remuneration policies in relation to government wage and hour regulations, prevailing rates for similar jobs in comparable industries or geographic areas, and recommend changes to establish and maintain competitive rates
    • Analyse organisational pay practices and make recommendations for salary changes to ensure equity
    • Keep up to date with and analyse relevant changes in government regulations, best practice and prevailing practices among similar organisations and make recommendations for appropriate changes in Tiger Brands’ process and policies
    • Analyse role profile content against external and internal benchmarks for job evaluation and provide recommendations regarding grade level, titling and pay data
    • Provide information to consultants and auditors for testing and preparation of reports
    • Assist with annual remuneration review process e.g. analysis, calculation, submission
    • Coach HR Business Partners on the implementation of reward and recognition policies
    • Research and provide information to respond to complex queries from employees and leaders regarding interpretation of rewards elements, including eligibility, covered services and exclusions (e.g. share allocations)
    • Ensure timely completion and submission of required reports
    • Implement fixed and variable pay schemes for all employees or for specific groups to support the organisation’s objectives
    • Manage administration of online compensation system

     

    Key attributes and competencies

    • Analytical skills – with the ability to run and interpret remuneration benchmarks and to perform role grading
    • Strong knowledge of legal environment – ability to assess all current rewards elements against existing laws and regulations
    • Precision – with strong accurateness and attention to detail in role grading recommendations and in all reports and benchmarks

     

    Experience:

    • Commercial B Degree or similar with statistics major
    • GRP certification and at least one years’ remuneration experience OR 3 years experience in remuneration related activities
    • Proven ability to conduct remuneration-related research, benchmarks and surveys
    • Knowledge of relevant sources and indicators for remuneration analysis both internally and in the market
