Rock Drill Operator at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10/ Standard 8 Certificate.
• Competent B Certificate or ability to obtain within required time.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• Completion of a relevant approved training programme.
• 1 year practical experience as Rock Drill Operator.
• Advantageous: 6 months practical Underground Mining experience, e.g.: Pump Attendant/ PTW.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Drill anchor holes required for anchoring of belt structures and equipment.
• Drill anchor holes in foot wall to secure belt structures/tips, etc., according to schedule. Anchoring of winches.
• Drilling, installation, tensioning and grouting of anchor bolts.
• Handling and care of drilling machine and accessories. e.g., thrustle and airleg. Ensure clean and safe.
