    SafeCoal Manager - Witbank

    Job Description

    The incumbent in the role is responsible for developing and reviewing risk management processes and the identification of appropriate controls to manage Health and Safety related risks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitating Risk Assessments and Critical Task Identification and Analysis (CTA).
    • Managing Catastrophic Hazards and Critical Controls.
    • Developing, reviewing and maintaining Risk Management Procedures.
    • Conducting Risk Management Training.
    • Participating in Risk Based Audits within the Company.
    • Developing a Behavioural Based Safety Programme for the Company.
    • Leading or conducting internal audits at the Complexes.
    • Contributing to the development of new tools, reports and standards to enhance Health and Safety in the workplace.
    • Promoting Health and Safety awareness within the Company.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Health/Safety/Mining/Engineering.

    Minimum Experience:

    • 2 Years’ experience at a Superintendent level.
    • Understanding of Risk Management, ISO 3100.
    • Knowledge of Assurance and Verification Processes.

    • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations, follow instructions and limit risk of non-compliance to the business.
    • Ability to maintain high levels of individual and team performance by driving the achievement of goals, targets and financial objectives.
    • Ability to inspire and foster commitment, pride and trust amongst team members by taking a democratic approach, seeking and valuing contributions and encouraging collaboration.
    • Ability to carefully and objectively analyse and evaluate information to inform decisions and key actions.
